The Akhtari Cap

In the last couple of years followers of the Akhtari cult have started wearing a special skull cap which has a sign/ embroidery of a "Taj" (Crown), showing that they follow their leader Mufti Akhtar Raza Khan Rizvi Azhari, who is called " Taj al-Shariah" by his followers. Hence a cap with 'Taj'(Crown) showing their membership.

A Hindi movie named "Dharam Sankat Mein" is about to be released in India. Some of the characters in this movie are shown wearing a skull cap with the picture of "crown' ( Taj) on it. Akhtari cult members are objecting to it, saying it hurts their religious feelings. Saeed Noori ( A khalifa of Mufti Akhtar Raza Khan Rizvi Azhari) has written a letter to the Mumbai Police commissioner requesting to get this cap removed from the movie scene. Other Muslims have said, this special cap is not a symbol of Islam. It is not sacred just because it has a symbol of a 'crown' ( Taj) on it. It may be sacred for the Akhtari Cult but not for all the Muslims. Hence it is not an Islamic issue.

Fatwa on Photography and CCTV Camera- Jamia Amjadiya Razviya, Ghosi

Jamia Amjadiya Razviya/ Rizviya, Ghosi ( India) is a Madarsa under Molvi Zia al Mustafa Ridawi. The Dar al Ifta of this madarsa was asked two questions with regard to photography for supererogatory ( nawafil ) Hajj and visiting those shrines ( mazaar) where CCTV camera is installed. We produce the fatwa for our Akhtari brethern along with a photograph from the shrine of Imam Ahmad Raza Rh showing a CCTV camera installed there. We hope Akhtari brethren won't say that the installed CCTV camera remains off!! The answer given in the fatwa states that getting oneself photograph is haram e zanni and performing nawafil hajj falls under the category of mustahab (recommended), hence one should not perform supererogatory ( nawfil) hajj, if one has to get photographed. Akhtari brethren will say that our pir sahab doesn't get photographed every time he goes for nawafil hajj. He has kept thousands of photographs as a stock and these were taken just once, many years back. In cas...

Akhtari Moon Sighting controversy

Akhtari Moon Sighting controversy In order to prove itself ‘special’ the Akhtari cult is often found to be crossing the limits set up by shariah. They claim to follow “Maslak e Ala Hazrat” but no Akhtari can give a final definition of “Maslak e Ala Hazrat”. In this regard they are very much like the present day “Ahlu hadith” sect whose members shy away from defining “ahlul hadith”. Yet another similarity between ‘Akhtari cult’ and ‘ahlul hadith cult’ is that they both consider themselves alone to be correct, even in the matters of Jurisprudence! In the last few years the members of the Akhtari cult have created a lot of confusion among the Sunni masses with regard to moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan as well as Eid al fitr. 2012 Akhtari Moon Sighting controversy In the year 2012, during the month of Ramadan Molvi Zia al Mustafa Ridawi went to a remote coastal town of Karnataka, which is a Southern Indian state. In this coastal town a local mureed of Molvi Zia al M...
